Balloon Blog Greetings!

The summer is finally upon us here in the Lewis and Clark Valley of Lewiston, Idaho and Clarkston, Washington and our hot air balloon rides are currently underway! We decided to launch (no pun intended) our Grand Opening in lieu of the NAIA World Series, looking forward to taking up some hardworking athletes on a much deserved adventure tour for some R&R.

It seems that we are on the way to becoming famous the Idaho attraction as we are the first hot air balloon ride operation in the Lewis and Clark Valley, which doesn’t come as a surprise as various nationally syndicated outdoor adventure publications such as Outdoor Magazine rated the valley as a “Top 10” outdoor adventure destination.

For me personally, some of the greatest satisfaction in ballooning is flying over a bus stop in the morning, watching all the kids come out and point, and knowing that it will be a memorable event in their lifetimes—the first time they saw a hot air balloon up close and personal. The same thing happens when people’s eyes get wide with excitement when they hear about what sort of tour operation we are offering... they certainly didn’t expect me to say “hot air ballooning”.

 If you hang around old time balloonists, one thing that will strike you is the bold youthfulness that remains in their eyes; being an adventurist has kept them young at heart. That is the real heartbeat behind Adventurist Air and the whole idea behind hot air ballooning in the first place; leaping out of the archaic rhythms of life, doing something new and exciting, seeing the world from a whole new perspective... as if you were seeing it for the first time.
